For comparison, traditional high-efficiency lamella separators and CPT/ TPI separators separate particles only to a minimum size of 50-70 micron.

The flow through the plate pack is horizontal, causing the solids to accumulate, become larger and drop through special openings into an area where there is no flow. They remain in this area until they are removed. Therefore, once separated out, the solids remain in the separator and are not washed out of the overflow by the next shower of rain. This makes a flow limiter unnecessary and allows the separator to also work when the flow rate is higher.

The separator can be used for gravitational flow applications and for applications where a pump is required. Any drops of oil coagulate and rise along the underneath of the plates through the weep holes in the plate packs.
